Freckled Foot

I asked my daughter McKayla if I could take a picture of the freckle on the bottom of her foot because I wanted to make a scrapbook page about it.  She agreed, but she was like “Oh Mom.” and she covered her face when I took the picture.

image

I wanted use bright colors for this page because McKayla’s favorite colors are bright pink and orange.

The backflow ground paper and the paper the photo is matted on are from my Citrus Twist Kit . the background paper is by Citrus Twist  and it has little pink, yellow and orange triangles all over it.  The paper I matted the photo on is by Pink Paislee. I used the front and back side the the Pink Paislee page.  One side was pink with black dotted circles and the other side was a black and white stripe.

   image

I made a yellow tag with a die,  my Cuttlebug and a yellow gingham patterned paper from my stash.  The yellow paper was pretty thin so I cut two tags from the yellow paper and glued them together to make the tag sturdier.

I scattered pink sequins around the page.  The sequins also came from a Citrus Twist Kit.  There were pink and blue sequins in the kit, but I only used the pink ones on this layout.  The sequins are made of a thicker plastic than any I have seen before and they have a bit of an iridescent shine to them.

The alpha stickers were also from a kit. They are a peachy orange color and are they are kind of  translucent, but they didn’t come with any manufacture information so I don’t know who made them.

image

I also added one puffy butterfly sticker to the bottom right of the photo.  The sticker is from an American Crafts Thickers sheet that, again, was in my Citrus Twist Kit.

Some of the embellishments in the kit came in a small glassine bag.  I saved the bag and used it to hold the tag that’s being the photo.  I wrote my journaling on the tag and stamped the top of the tag with a stamp from the kit that said “seriously cute”.

I kept this page pretty simple, and I love it!

Lucky Lady

Emma was huge hit at the St. Patrick’s Day parade with her gorgeous red hair and fair skin, she got lots of beads and candy.

When Emma was about two and half years old her Aunt Patty took her to the St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown in St. Louis.  I was unable to attend the parade with them, but Patty gave me this picture and told me about how all the people commented on Emma’s beautiful red hair.

Emma is older now and although she has lost those cute curls, she still has that awesome red hair.

Awesome Cheeky Monkey – scrapbook page

No trip to the St. Louis Zoo would be complete with out a picture with the Phil the Gorilla statue.  Below is a scrapbook page using a picture from several years ago of my daughters, Emma and McKayla, standing by Phil the Gorilla’s statue.

I started the layout by choosing a pink and peach triangle pattern paper from Citrus Twist, but ended up changing it out for a floral pattern paper from the Amy Tangerine Stitched paper pad.  I also used a black and white leaf pattern paper and two other yellow pattern papers from the Amy Tangerine Stitched paper pad.  I added a pink, an orange and a green pattern paper from a 6″x 6″ Colorbok paper pad.

I inked all the edges of the papers and added embellishments from my January 2016 Citrus Twist main kit.  I also used a few chipboard stickers by Amy Tangerine and some black enamel dots.

I love how this page came together!

Scrapbook page – I love your smile

I’ve only started scrapbooking this past year so I have a lot of older pictures waiting for me to make pages with.

McKayla is 11 now, but I loved making a layout with this picture of her from when she was a baby.  Her chubby cheeks are gone now, but she still has that cute dimple.

image

For the patterned paper is used a Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm paper pad by American Crafts.

I matted the photo on black card stock.

I added doilies behind the red and pink script patterned paper strip and the photo.

Around the picture I placed a flower die cut, a yellow circle with a  heart in the middle and a sparkley butterfly sticker.

Below is a process video for the page.

Hiking Adventure Layout and process video

I loved using pieces from my Citrus Twist January 2016 main kit, watercolors and stamps on this layout.

The watercolor was inspired by a Crafty Maven Getaway inspiration piece linked below.

Inspiration Pieces

The photos on this layout are from hiking trip at Cuivre River State Part.  My sister and her husband took my girls and their daughter Katie on this hike as a part of Katie’s birthday weekend.

(I didn’t include Katie or her parents on this page because at the time I did this layout I hadn’t asked them yet if it was ok for me to post photos of them.  I have since asked and now have their permission to include them in future pages.)

Most of he  paper for this page came from my January Citrus twist kit, but I did use some scraps to die cut the leaves.

I used my StampeRor to stamp the wild flowers and dragon flies.

I added dragon flies and some black gems to the page after I finished filming, but you can see the rest of the processes in the video below.

Scrapbook Page – Shape

This week the challenge on the Victoria Marie Facebook group was to make a layout using a picture in a shape other than a square or rectangle.image

For the shape I choose two Sizzix framelit flower nesting dies to cut out the picture and the black border around the picture.   In the picture Emma and McKayla are sitting in a tree and I like how the flower shape compliments the image.

Most of the patterned paper comes from a Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm paper pad by American Crafts with the addition of  the black paper with the camera print behind the yellow bird which is from an Amy Tangerine paper pad.

I stamped and colored the three monkeys at the bottom of the page by the title.  I  added black paint spatter to the bottom and left side of the page and a butterfly, yellow bird and swirl flower sticker which are from a set bought at Dollar Tree.

Back to School Scrapbook page – sketch Challenge

The weekly challenge in the Victoria Marie FB Group this week is a sketch challenge this based on the sketch below by Laura Whitaker.

image

For this challenge I made a page of Emma & McKayla’s first days back to school and I love how it turned out.

image

The papers are from Shimelle True Stories 12″ x 12″ paper pad by American Crafts and a sheet of black card stock.  I used a stamp by Tattered Angels Screen Prints called Notes From The Garden and some black ink to add the swirls to the background paper.  I also added glossy accents to all the black dots on the background paper to add another texture to the finished page.  The coffee cup on the bottom left of the center piece was fussy cut from one of the pages from the paper pad.  I added the title using Tim Holtz idea-ology Label Letters.

2015 December Daily pages

I previously shared my December Daily album cover and the pages of the album that I made in advance.  There are the finished album pages.

I moved things around on the pre-made pages as needed and added more embellishments once the pictures where placed.

I also added an additional page in the back of the album for extra Christmas Day pictures I wanted to include.

image   image

This was my first December Daily album and I’m really happy with how it turned out.  My favorite aspect of the project was how it helped me be more aware and focus on what was happening in our lives. There were a few days I forgot to take a picture or make note of what we were doing so I used pictures from a past Christmas  for one of the days I missed and made a list of my favorite Christmas songs for another.

Scrapbook Page – Catch of the Day

A few years ago my husband went on a fishing trip to Canada with some of the guys from work. I’m not sure why they had to go all the way to Canada, but apparently it’s a good place to fish and they had a great time.

image

I believe the back ground paper is from a paper pad called In The Wild by Paper House

image

I double matted the photo with some scrap paper.

The four fish related cards are  part of a cut apart sheet from a DCWV paper pad called Out In The Wild.

image

The other gridded card is a Project Life card.

The little splash of water on the PL card is from a sticker sheet that came in a variety pack of stickers I got at Joanns a few years ago.

The bobbin and fishing lure are stickers I had left over from a sticker sheet I bought at Hobby Lobby.

Scrapbook Page – What Goes Up

These photos are my girls on a bouncy house slide at the balloon races a couple of years ago.  I love the one on the bottom right where McKayla is in mid-slide.

image

The background paper is from Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm American Crafts paper pad.

I double matted the photos with papers from the same Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm paper pad.

The arrows are wood veneer and I inked them and the border of the background paper  with teal blue Stazon ink.

I placed some dots to the left side and the bottom right corner.

I added some lines for journaling and at first I wrote in a red ink, but went back over the journaling with black ink.
